30 Reception places available for September 2026

Admissions Process for our Reception 2026 Intake

Applications to join our Reception class from September 2026 need to be made through your Local Authority.

Overstone Gate Primary School opened with one Reception class (30 places) in September 2025 and will admit a further Reception class (up to 30 children) in the 2026/27 academic year. It will grow to reach its capacity as a two-form entry school with 420 pupils from Reception to Year 6, in line with increased housing growth and demand.

Parents/carers wishing to apply for one of the 30 Reception places available for September 2026 should put Overstone Gate Primary School down as a preference on the common application form, which can be submitted online via their home local authority website from 10th September 2025.

The closing date for on-time applications is 15th January 2026. Offers will be made on 16th April 2026.

Appeals

Where a child is not offered a place, the parent(s) will be entitled to an appeal against the decision to refuse admission. The letter of refusal will contain details of how to go about appealing the decision, including the deadline for lodging the appeal and who to contact. Parents must set out their grounds for appeal as part of their application. Where an appeal is successful, the Academy must admit the child.
